Tone or Stim?

Tone or STIM, which should I be using on the E Collar?

STIM is short for Stimulation - the E Collar is a muscle “stimulator.” The brand we recommend is the Mini Educator by E Collar Technologies. The STIM has levels 1-100. It is used to provide clarity and get your dog’s attention like for reactivity, to pair with no, to interrupt whining on place, for getting off of place, to interrupt rough play, and to correct for not coming when called.

Tone is a sound. You have to switch the vibrate button (it has a T on it) to use it on the Mini Educator. Tone is used to encourage movement like heel, for recall, encourage to hop on something, and when guiding your dog over to the place cot. We have a whole section on TONE in our E Collar Starter Guide that will give you the steps you need to fell confident when using it. Click the link to learn more!

Do you use the tone function? Do you like using it?
